Use it when: you are membrane-coating a whole roof and the roof matters. Commercial and industrial decks, metal buildings, foam-over assemblies, and anything in a high-wind region.
Pure polyurea — amine-terminated resin with no polyol extender, which means it is not moisture-sensitive during cure and will spray on a damp deck at dawn without foaming or blushing. It carries Miami-Dade approval, which matters both for code in high-velocity hurricane zones and as a general signal of how the assembly performs under uplift.
Field spec: 40–60 mil over 7001 Primer, with stripe passes at seams, drains, curbs, and penetrations.
OR7K Polyurea
Use it when: the job is waterproofing rather than a full roof membrane spec — or when it is the detail work around one.
OR7K is the general-purpose waterproofing polyurea in the line. On roofs it does most of its work vertically and at transitions: parapet walls, equipment curbs, gutter and box-gutter troughs, scuppers, and roof-to-wall junctions. It is also the practical choice for small structures — sheds, carports, canopies — where OR-80SLM is more system than the building needs.
Detail spec: 60–80 mil at curbs and transitions, carried a minimum of 6" up verticals and tied into the field membrane inside the 6-hour recoat window.
Flak Jacket 1 (FJ1)
Use it when: something is going to hit the roof — feet, tools, hail, or dropped equipment.
FJ1 is a higher-build polyurea originally developed for truck beds and equipment decks, which tells you what it is good at. On roofs it is specified zonally rather than across the whole plane: the service walkway from the hatch to the rooftop units, the surround under a condenser, a roof deck people actually stand on, and the exposed field on hail-belt buildings.
Zone spec: 80–100 mil in the traffic or impact zone, overlapping the OR-80SLM field membrane so the two are chemically continuous.
Alasta Seal
Use it when: the roof is light, thin, and never stops moving.
Alasta Seal is a flexible polyurea membrane developed for RV, camper, travel trailer, and manufactured-home roofs. These structures flex continuously — down the highway or in wind — and they are built from thin metal, aluminum, or an aged rubber membrane over lightweight framing. A stiffer system telegraphs every bit of that movement into the bond line.
Paired with 7001 Primer it goes over the old aluminized asphalt and failed sealants these roofs accumulate, without bleed-through. Super Orange Cleaner handles the degreasing step first.
Spec: Clean with Super Orange Cleaner, remove loose coating, 7001 Primer, Alasta Seal per unit type with a stripe pass at every seam, vent flange, and edge trim.

7001 Primer — The Product That Makes the Range Work
It is worth saying plainly: on most roofs, the primer decision is more consequential than the membrane decision. The membranes in this line all have similar adhesive capability. Whether any of it gets used depends entirely on what is between the polyurea and the deck.
7001 Primer is a quick-set, multi-surface adhesion primer. It handles TPO, PVC, EPDM, modified bitumen, built-up asphalt, metal (including aluminum, where it is mandatory), concrete, plywood, and previously coated surfaces. On asphaltic substrates it does a second job — it blocks bleed-through, so oils from the old roof cannot migrate up and soften or stain the new membrane.
The two places people get in trouble: skipping it on aluminum, where the oxide layer re-forms within minutes of cleaning, and skipping it over an aged single-ply, where the plasticizer-depleted surface has no tooth at all. Both failures look identical — sheet delamination a season later.
